CFNI does not provide housing for students arriving before the official check-in dates. If you plan to arrive early, you will need to arrange your own accommodations until campus housing opens. For a list of hotels near campus, click here.
When you arrive on campus, our team will guide you to the designated check-in location to begin your Welcome Week experience.
Students are responsible for arranging their own transportation to campus. Please note that CFNI does not provide airport transportation.

Tuesday Night Encounters (TNE): Every Tuesday Night within the semester, starting at 7 pm, we have an experience for you that consists of worship and the word with a different guest speaker each week. For our first and second-year students, this is a required class. It is open to the public, so be sure to invite your friends and family to join us if they are in town.
Here is what you need to know:
All international students are required to complete check-in with the CFNI International Affairs Office (DSO) in order to activate their I-20.
You must have the following information to complete your check-in process:
After checking in with the International Affairs Office, you will meet with a representative from the Remedial English Department. If you are not from an English-language waiver country, you will be required to take an English Assessment on your first day of class. If you do not pass the assessment, you will be enrolled in Remedial English, which meets once per week and requires an additional fee. You can view the cost under the “Elective Opportunities” section on our tuition and fees page.
If you anticipate not passing an English assessment or will be needing support in English, please plan ahead and be prepared for this additional cost.
CFNI does not require you to take the TOEFL exam, however, if you wish to avoid Remedial English, we highly recommend you take the exam. You are eligible to waive Remedial English if you receive a TOEFL score of 61 or higher. An official score must be provided to the Remedial English Department for evaluation.
International students are required to pay their semester balance in full before or upon arrival. This includes the required semester deposit and any additional costs related to registration selections and elective opportunities. To view tuition and fees, view our tuition and fees page.
As you prepare to leave your home country, please contact your bank in advance. Some banks automatically block international transactions or restrict account activity outside of your home country. Confirming this ahead of time will help ensure you can access and use your funds upon arrival in the United States.
If you plan to transfer funds between accounts, please allow sufficient processing time. Some transfers may take 7–10 business days to complete. Please note that you will not be able to register or receive your housing key until CFNI has received your full semester payment.
Below is a helpful list of items to bring or purchase when you arrive, whether you are attending CFNI as a single student or with your family.
Regardless of whether you are a single student or coming with your family, please plan to bring the following:
Please bring all medications you and your family use regularly, and pack more than you expect to need. Allergy season in Dallas lasts year-round, with common triggers like pollen, grass, cedar, and mold. If you have allergies, we recommend consulting your doctor before you arrive, and bringing effective medication with you.
Please note that medications in the United States may have different names or formulas, so it’s best to bring what you know works for you.
Here is what you need to know:
U.S. citizens/residents have the option to pay for their semester in full, or enroll in a payment plan, which includes a payment plan fee. The total includes the required semester deposit and any additional costs related to registration selections and elective opportunities. To view tuition and fees, view our tuition and fees page.

CFNI does not offer medical insurance plans for students. There is a nurse on campus available to students, and the Deans department can provide a list of medical resources in the area.
If you have a vehicle on campus, you will need to register it and pick up a parking sticker at the Security office when you arrive. To register your vehicle, click HERE.
Yes! It is an amazing opportunity for young kids between the ages of 1 and 5. You can learn more about the preschool and associated costs HERE.
During CFNI Welcome Week, we have something special in store for your children! More Information and the children’s schedule for welcome week are coming soon.
Each resident building has a shared laundry room available to all residents. Washing machines and dryers each cost $1 per cycle. Payment can be made directly at the machine by card, or through a mobile app where you can add funds to your account. Please note that hanging laundry lines are not permitted anywhere on campus.
We recommend starting with the CFNI International Helps Store, available to all enrolled single students and families. You will find many basic household items such as dishes and kitchen supplies there, donated free of charge by other residents. For larger purchases, the DFW area offers many stores to fit a range of budgets and preferences.
Your mailing address will be provided upon arrival. Each apartment is assigned a designated mailbox for letters and small items. Single students sharing an apartment will share a mailbox, while families are assigned their own. Larger packages are delivered directly to your apartment door.
Apartments do not have landline telephones. Most students use a personal mobile phone with a local SIM card.
Individual internet contracts are not permitted in campus apartments. Wi-Fi is available on campus for all residents. Some apartment types require students to provide their own router.
Pets are not permitted in student housing, including dogs, cats, birds, fish, reptiles, and rodents. The only exception is a registered Service Animal as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). If you require a Service Animal, please contact the Housing Department by email prior to registration. Please note that Emotional Support Animals are not recognized as Service Animals under CFNI housing policy and are not permitted.
